Alexis Bledel Says She’s Ready To Return For ‘Sin City 2’Published by Silas Lesnick on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 1:52 pm.
While promoting her upcoming film “Post Grad”, Alexis Bledel confirmed with MTV News that she’ll be returning to her decidedly darker role of Old Town prostitute Becky as soon as “Sin City 2” finally gets off the ground. While Alexis is certain that her character will be back, no one at all seems certain about when, exactly, the completed script might begin production.
“I don’t know who knows when…” Bledel told MTV News, “…but they keep saying they’re going to shoot it. Hopefully very soon.”
Official “Sin City” news has been hard to come by lately, with the most recent update involving the longtime rumor of Angelina Jolie’s casting finally gaining some serious weight. Jolie will likely be featured in a storyline partially based on Frank Miller’s original “A Dame to Kill For” (on account of Jolie being a dead-ringer for Miller’s Ava Lord.)
If you’re marking your cast scorecards, this means that Bledel joins Michael Clarke Duncan, Rosario Dawson and Jamie King as actors who’ve announced their plans to return for a sequel. Still up in the air is Marv himself, as Mickey Rourke has offered conflicting statements about his plans for another go ‘round.
If it is, indeed, true that Robert Rodriguez and Miller want to go the “Dame to Kill For” route, the big question will be about Clive Owen’s involvement. While his character plays a large role in the story, it’s set up that he underwent complete facial reconstruction between “Dame” and his story in the first “Sin City” film.
